Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about our products, pricing, compliance planning and how projects work.
General
What does Unicare Medical Solutions do?+
We design, manufacture and install modular operation theatres, medical gas pipeline systems and related hospital infrastructure such as OT pendants, surgical lights, hermetic doors, pass boxes and ICU fit-outs.
Do you provide a fixed price list?+
No. Our pricing guide shows indicative ranges only. A final quotation is prepared after reviewing your drawings, specifications and site.
How do I start a project with you?+
Send your requirement through the enquiry form, call or WhatsApp. We discuss the scope, review drawings or visit the site, and then share a technical proposal and quotation.
Can you upgrade an existing operation theatre?+
Yes. Existing theatres can often be upgraded to modular or semi-modular after a site assessment of the room, HVAC and services.
Product FAQs
Modular Operation Theatre
View Modular OT →What is the price of a modular operation theatre?+
Modular OT price depends on the room size, panel material, laminar air flow specification, doors, control systems and installation scope. Share your drawings or room size and we will prepare a project-specific quotation.
How long does modular OT installation take?+
Timelines depend on project size and site readiness. Our team shares a schedule after the site assessment and technical planning stage.
Can an existing OT be converted into a modular OT?+
Yes. Most existing theatres can be upgraded after a site assessment of the room, HVAC and services.
Medical Gas Pipeline System
View Medical Gas Pipeline →What is the cost of a medical gas pipeline?+
Cost depends on the number of outlets, gases, pipeline length, source equipment and building layout. We quote after reviewing your drawings.
AGSS (Anaesthetic Gas Scavenging System)
View AGSS →What is AGSS?+
AGSS stands for Anaesthetic Gas Scavenging System — a system that removes waste anaesthetic gases from the OT.
Cubicle Curtain Tracks
View Cubicle Curtain Tracks →Can tracks be installed in existing wards?+
Yes, tracks can be fitted to most existing ceilings after a site check.
Laminar Air Flow
View Laminar Air Flow →What is laminar air flow in an operation theatre?+
It is a ceiling-mounted system that sends HEPA-filtered air downward in a steady stream over the surgical area.
Surgical Scrub Sink
View Surgical Scrub Sink →Which tap operation is best?+
Sensor taps are most common in new OTs; knee and elbow operation are reliable non-electric options.
CSSD Systems
View CSSD Systems →What is CSSD in a hospital?+
It is the department responsible for decontaminating, sterilising and distributing reusable medical devices.
Hospital Furniture
View Hospital Furniture →Do you supply furniture for complete hospital projects?+
Yes, we can supply furniture packages for full projects. Share your bed count and departments.
Bed Head Panel
View Bed Head Panel →Can bed head panels be customised?+
Yes — number of outlets, sockets and accessories are configured per project.
OT Pendant
View OT Pendant →What is the price of an OT pendant in India?+
An OT pendant is indicatively ₹30,000 to ₹1 Lakh per unit. The final price depends on single or double arm configuration, the number of gas outlets, sockets and the accessories selected.
What is the difference between a single-arm and a double-arm OT pendant?+
A single-arm pendant rotates around one joint and suits smaller theatres or fixed workflows. A double-arm pendant has two articulated arms, giving a wider reach and more positioning flexibility.
Can an OT pendant be installed in an existing theatre?+
Usually yes, after checking the ceiling structure, ceiling height and the routing of gas and electrical services.
LED Surgical Light
View LED Surgical Light →Single dome or double dome — which surgical light do I need?+
Major and speciality theatres commonly use a double-dome light so a second head is available. Minor OTs and procedure rooms often use a single dome. We recommend after reviewing the theatre use.
What standard applies to surgical lights?+
IEC 60601-2-41 is the international particular standard for surgical and diagnostic luminaires. Ask for the manufacturer's conformity documentation for the model being supplied.
What is the price of an LED surgical light?+
Price depends on dome configuration, light output and features such as camera arms. Share your requirement and we will quote for suitable models.
Hermetic OT Door
View Hermetic OT Door →Why are hermetic doors used in an operation theatre?+
They seal against the frame when closed, which helps the theatre hold its pressure difference against corridors and reduces uncontrolled air movement.
Manual or automatic hermetic door?+
Automatic doors allow hands-free entry for scrubbed staff. Manual doors cost less and suit lower-traffic rooms. The choice depends on workflow and budget.
Pass Box
View Pass Box →What is the difference between a static and a dynamic pass box?+
A static pass box is a sealed chamber without airflow. A dynamic pass box has a fan and filter to supply filtered air inside the chamber and is used where higher cleanliness is needed.
Where is a pass box installed in a hospital?+
Typically between the operation theatre and the sterile or dirty corridor, between CSSD zones, and in laboratories and pharmacies.
Modular ICU
View Modular ICU →What does a modular ICU include?+
Typically bed head panels or pendants, medical gas outlets, electrical points, curtain tracks and cleanable finishes. The exact scope is agreed per project.
How is a NICU different from an adult ICU?+
NICU layouts are planned around incubators, warmers and phototherapy units, with attention to space per cot, gas outlets and parent access. Your clinical team's requirements guide the layout.
Manifold Room System
View Manifold Room System →How is a manifold room system selected?+
Selection depends on the medical gas, hospital demand, cylinder arrangement and site requirements. Share your requirements for a project-specific proposal.
